A widening gap between college and industry
Across India, many universities now require students to complete internships as part of their degree programmes. At the same time, employers increasingly expect graduates to arrive with practical skills, project experience, and an understanding of how work actually gets done.
Yet there is a fundamental mismatch. Every year, millions of students seek meaningful internship opportunities — but industry has only limited capacity to absorb, mentor, and supervise interns at that scale. Even organisations that want to support students often lack the time, structure, or resources to provide a consistent learning experience.

About the Founder
Manish Sharma
Founder, InternAge · Co-founder, AI Co-Thinkers
A strategy and operations professional, entrepreneur, and ecosystem builder with more than two decades of experience spanning consulting, technology, and startups.
Over the course of his career, he has worked with organisations including Deloitte, Capgemini, Kearney, and Contentstack — where he served as Chief of Staff to the CTO during a period of rapid global growth.
Through InternAge, Manish is working to create stronger connections between academia and industry, enabling students to gain practical experience before they graduate and helping organisations engage with emerging talent more effectively. He is also the co-founder of AI Co-Thinkers, a practitioner-led community bringing together AI builders, founders, researchers, and enterprise leaders to accelerate AI adoption through shared learning.
